Fuel Reduction Project Completed

A major fuel reduction project has been completed! A 150 acre thinning project recently occurred on PDH land, CHY property, and an absentee private landowner's property. Treatment included mastication, biomass removal, and some hand thinning. Last week, members of the Quincy and Portola communities joined the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, Plumas Fire Safe Council, and Hospital staff on an educational walk through some of the project area. This was a Sierra Nevada Conservation funded project that was awarded to the Fire Safe Council.

"By next year we are going to be breaking ground on a $40 million dollar, 36 room, skilled nursing facility right here. So this is absolutely something we jumped all over and I can't thank the partners enough for listening and being willing to do this with us.
